Two Tips for Couples Who’ll Be Going on a Romantic Holiday

Blog

Here are two tips for couples who'll be going on a romantic holiday.

They should book accommodation that is roomy and well-equipped

When couples go on romantic getaways, their goal is not usually to spend the entire holiday visiting one local attraction after another, but rather to enjoy some quality time in each other's company without the distractions that they might encounter at home. With this in mind, it's best for those planning this type of trip to not simply book a standard hotel room, but rather to choose some form of accommodation that is both roomy and well-equipped. Examples of this might include a holiday cottage or a large hotel suite.

Choosing spacious accommodation will allow them to create a pretty, romantic atmosphere more easily, as their space won't be cluttered up with the contents of their suitcases because they'll have plenty of storage space for their belongings. This will ensure they don't find themselves trying to, for example, have their romantic indoor 'picnic' on a messy floor or a bed covered in toiletries and clothing.

Having well-equipped accommodation will also allow the couple to enjoy their time together that much more. If for example, they opt for a holiday cottage that has a comfortable sofa, a fireplace and a television, they can enjoy cuddling together in front of a roaring fire whilst watching a film. Likewise, if the holiday accommodation has cooking facilities and a nice dining table set, they can enjoy doing some leisurely cooking together and have somewhere pleasant in which to eat their meal. Having the option to do these relaxing activities in the privacy of their accommodation is likely to make for a more enjoyable trip.

They should pack some items to make their accommodation look and feel romantic

Couples who want their holiday to be as lovely as possible should also consider packing a few items that they can use to make their accommodation even cosier and more romantic. For example, if the accommodation they choose does not have policies that forbid their guests to use candles, they might want to bring along some scented ones, to create a warm, intimate atmosphere. They might also want to bring a bag of rose petals, that they can sprinkle on their dining table to give it a romantic look when they enjoy their meals together in this area.

Lastly, if it's likely to be chilly, they might want to pack one or two small throws, that will allow them to, for example, snuggle up together on the accommodation's balcony (if it has one), and watch the sunset or do some romantic stargazing with a glass of wine, without getting too cold. These little additions could make a big difference to how much the couple enjoy their time in their accommodation.

Planning a weekend away

My wife had been having a rocky time of it since our second child was born. She really needed a break from the kids so I organised a luxury weekend away in a hotel while the kids stayed with our parents. That way she was be able to catch up on sleep, having uninterrupted showers and toilet breaks. She also really looked forward to not having to clean up after the kids for a while! Luckily, she enjoyed this weekend so much that we decided to do it more regularly. This blog is all about organising a luxury weekend away in a hotel for your spouse.
